Good news - there is an update for Joomla Progress Bar which implements one new functionality - Dynamic SQL Progress Bar.

Now you are able to execute your own SQL query which returns record COUNT. This value is used for Dynamic (SQL based) Progress Bar (similar to Static: Passed value).

Feel free to use 3rd option of  Progress Bar Type - "Dynamic (SQL based)" and don't forget to enter 2 additional parameters:

  • SQL for integer of progress - Dynamic SQL which will result in an integer indicating current progress
  • target for SQL - the fixed (integer) target which equal 100 percent of the total being aimed for.

Today new module for Joomla 1.5 has been released. This module is called "Progress Bar" and it's starting version is 1.0.

This version can be found in the download area and allows creation of various progress bars. "Progress Bar 1.0" is implemented using the Joomla! 1.5 framework.

This module is absolutely free and you don't need to register in order to download.

Depending on the feedback this module can be extended into even more flexible solution.
